Our custom-designed control board delivers the capabilities of high-end PLC at a fraction of the cost. By crafting our own cable harnesses and eliminating unnecessary components, we’ve minimized both material usage and physical footprint. The result is a compact, efficient system that still provides all the functionality you need, without the hefty price tag.
For our thermal systems, the control board sits in the main control cabinet alongside valves and pumps, consolidating everything in one place. In the electrical system, the board is integrated directly into the cabinet. In both cases, a touchscreen display on the cabinet’s front panel gives users immediate, local control—making it easy to manage and monitor the system without needing external devices.
Our custom control board, designed alongside a tailored cable harness, optimizes both space and cost efficiency while maintaining essential functionality and security. The integrated design allows us to reduce the overall footprint of the system, leading to lower installation and operational costs.

For all BTES thermal systems, we operate a master control unit in the controller cabinet, managing pumps and overall system coordination. For larger storage systems with eight or more rings, a slave unit is installed in the central bunker to control the valves, ensuring smooth operation and effective management of the storage.
The smart controller monitors, manages, and controls the energy balance in the entire system including solar thermal collectors, storage, heat pump (if installed) and other components. Sensors throughout the system send real time data to the controller which lets the controller algorithms measure the impact of any changes.
These algorithms have been designed to make the most efficient use of the heat available. This can mean that the heat is passed directly from the solar collectors to the heat consumer (hot water tank or heating system). Or, the heat may be passed to a heat pump to boost its efficiency. If there is no immediate use for the heat, it will be sent to storage for later use.
Both the electrical and the thermal systems have a touch screen on the main control unit. This gives access to all important controls in order to run the system locally.
Our intelligent on-site controller seamlessly integrates with our cloud infrastructure via the real-time MQTT protocol, delivering reliable data transmission and in-depth performance insights—from power output to thermal capacity. Accessible from any device, the intuitive dashboard visualizes key metrics in real time, making it simple to track trends, analyze usage, and fine-tune your system’s settings.
